Kenozero National Park has been working hard to developIMG_0661 immersive learning rooms, partly funded through the Drifting Apart Project.

During a partner meeting in late May partners were able to see the first room to be completed. Located in Vershinino village, on the shoreline of lake Kenozero, the room will act as a learning centre for local villages, summer camps, visitors and community groups.

Interpretation is both immersive and integrated, bird song is triggered when there is movement near a bird migration map and here you can see a map which also serves as a table. These are just some of the wonderful features included in the design.

This is the first of two learning rooms to be developed by Kenozero National Park through the Drifting Apart project. The second will be completed later in the year and will explore the wonderful geology throughout the National Park.

Here you can see an interactive workstation. Electronic scanners built into the desk can be activated by trigger jars, which have been filled with imitations of various flora, fauna and even water. Screens then display relevant and engaging information and videos. Here you can see a still of an intimation explaining the water cycle and the Arctic-European watershed located within Kenozero National Park.
